Overview

Commenting lets you and your collaborators discuss a scenario without changing its underlying data. You can ask questions, flag concerns, and talk through the cost or structural impact of a proposed change right where it happens—on the exact organization, position, or employee it affects.

Both scenario owners and commenters can add, reply to, and resolve comments. Only the owner can edit the scenario's underlying data, and multiple people can comment on the same scenario at the same time.

Where you can add a comment

You can leave a comment on:

  • A scenario as a whole

  • A position node

  • An organization node

  • A vacant position

  • An unassigned employee in the holding area

Add a comment

  1. Select the scenario, organization, position, or unassigned employee you want to comment on. If you don't select anything, your comment applies to the scenario as a whole.

  2. Click the Show comments button to open the Comments panel.

  3. Type your comment.

  4. Click the Send comment button .

View comments

When nothing is selected, the comments panel shows every comment on the scenario. Select a node to see only the comments left on it.

Filter comments

  1. Click the Show comments button .

  2. Click the Filter comments button to narrow what’s shown in the comments panel. You can apply filters such as resolved comments, scenario-level comments, or only your comments. Scenario-level comments show only comments left on the scenario as a whole, and hide comments left on specific organizations, positions, or employees.

To jump to where a comment was left, click the Go to position button on the comment.

Resolve a comment

Anyone with access to the scenario can mark a comment thread as resolved or move it back to unresolved, and can see who resolved it. Resolved threads are hidden from view; use a filter to make them visible. You can only resolve or reopen an entire thread, not individual replies within it.

To resolve a comment, click the Mark as resolved button .

Edit or delete a comment

You can edit or delete your own comments. You cannot delete or edit a comment someone else left.

To edit or delete your comments, click the More actions button .
